FOCUS Learning Academy & Triple A Academy

=  Two outstanding, “world-class” schools with distinct personalities, but with one mission and one vision

FOCUS Academies provides a strategic learning environment for students in grades Pre-K - 10 through at the FOCUS Learning Academy campus and grades 9 - 10 at the Triple A Academy campus with plans for grades 11-12 to be added during the Fall semesters of 2012 and 2013, respectively. FOCUS Academies is a state-approved charter campus that gained approval from the Texas State Board of Education in October 1998 and opened its doors to 177 children in the Fall semester of 1999. The Academies are public school campuses that are required to meet State Accreditation Requirements, but operate under the guidelines of its State-Approved Charter.

FOCUS Academies fosters parental involvement by treating parents, in its every action, with respect and courtesy. Our faculty and staff are trained to see parents in this light. Our teachers and school leaders communicate regularly with parents through telephone calls, newsletters, conferences, notes and emails. Parents are encouraged to visit their children’s classrooms at any time (per administrative guidelines) to see their children and our teachers in action. Special attributes of FOCUS Academies includes its emphasis on academics, which include viable services to the learning different child, safe environment, small teacher-student ratio, dress code, and a strong value system instilled and implemented in a nurturing environment.

In 2007-2008 FOCUS received a Gold Performance Acknowledgement for attendance only. One year later, in 2008-2009 FOCUS students scored in the 90 percentile on the TAKS, and they received a Gold Performance Acknowledgement in Reading/Language Arts. By 2009, and again in 2010, over 30% of FOCUS students taking TAKS received Commended Performance Status. The 2010-11 school year ended with a TEA Recognized District Accountability Rating.
